. Four people have been injured in a Russian drone strike in the Ukrainian capital Kyiv during the Russia-Ukraine war. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on social media on Wednesday that four people were injured when a Russian drone hit an apartment building in Kyiv.
According to Zelenskyy, rescue workers immediately carried out rescue and fire control after the incident. He said that the Russian attack also affected the international Starokozache border point with Moldova in the Odessa region. After the attack, the operation of the border point has been suspended.
Zelenskyy said two people were killed and three wounded in the attack on the border.
Rescuers have shifted 16 people to safer places, he added.
According to him, damage data and rescue operations are being carried out in the Dnipro, Mykolaiv, Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv, Zhytomyr and Kiev regions after the Russian invasion. Zelenskyy said that the international community’s response to the Russian invasion was not enough. He said that effective international action is needed to stop the attacks that are taking place every day.
“Moscow should not enter the winter season with the confidence that it will not face any consequences even with missile and drone strikes,” Zelenskyy said. He said that sanctions on Russia and aid to Ukraine should be effectively implemented.
Meanwhile, Zelenskyy said on September 7 that regional disputes were an important issue in the effort to end the Russia-Ukraine war. After meeting with US special envoy in Kyiv Steve Wittoff and US President Donald Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner, he said that some of the most complex issues in the talks could only be resolved at the level of national leaders.
Zelenskyy said that three rounds of discussions have been held with the US delegation and those discussions have been fruitful. He expressed hope that the talks will help to resume the diplomatic process and create an environment for a long-term peace agreement.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that the US President welcomes Trump’s efforts to end the Russia-Ukraine war.
Peskov claimed that Russia does not want war but is trying to end the conflict that started earlier. According to him, Moscow’s aim is to stop the war. However, after Russia intensified its missile and drone attacks again, the possibility of an immediate end to the Russia-Ukraine war seems still remote. ANI
