Kathmandu. Radhika Shakya, wife of CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli, has said that the arson at her residence in Balkot on September 24 was not limited to a plan to burn down her house and property.
Releasing her book ‘The Ruins of a Dream’ at her house in Balkot, Shakya said that the incident was carried out with the intention of setting them on fire.
“The Ashrani gang did not only intend to set fire, but also planned to burn KP Oli. If we had been burnt on September 24, 2002, today would have been our death anniversary along with a black day,” said Shakya.
Stating that they are alive because of the love of the people, she complained that various allegations and accusations are being levelled against Oli.
“Many accusations have been levelled against us as we live with the pious spirit of serving this country as long as we have a handful of breath,” said Shakya.
Shakya claimed that they will never back down from the path of duty and said that the ‘Kharani Gang’ will collapse on its own. He said that they are ready to face whatever pain is given to them.
She said that her book has included the events from September 7 to September 24 and the situation they went through during that time.
Releasing the book at his house in Balkot, Shakya recalled the incident.
