Kathmandu. Rastriya Swatantra Party (Rastriya Swatantrik Party (RSP) lawmaker Khagendra Sunar has demanded the government to immediately investigate and sack Nepal Police Inspector General Dan Bahadur Karki.
Speaking in the House of Representatives on Friday, Sunar questioned the government’s silence on the police leadership at a time when three ministers have already been sacked despite minor allegations.
“So far, three ministers have been sacked on simple charges. But the current Inspector General of Nepal Police, Dan Bahadur Karki, his wife and other senior officials have been seriously accused of embezzling millions of rupees,” Sunar said, “Complaints have been filed against them from the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) to the Public Accounts Committee.” He is also accused of eating the shoes and socks of lower-ranking policemen. “
He demanded to explain the reason why the government did not sack IGP Karki and did not proceed with the investigation process despite the allegations of corruption of crores of rupees. Sunar said that such allegations against the police organization have serious meaning.
‘Why is the government not sacking him? Why is he not being investigated? What is the reason why he is being saved? It is a very serious matter that the father is accused of stealing the daughter and the police are accused of theft,” he said.
