Kathmandu. Celebrity Cricket Utsav defeated Team Owners by 16 runs in a friendly cricket match before the final of the Indoor Super League Season 2.
Celebrity Cricket Utsav captain Vivek Khatiwada won the toss first and decided to bat first. In this 10-over match, Celebrity Cricket Utsav scored 93 runs in the stipulated 10 overs and set a target of 94 runs for the team owners of the Indoor Super League.
The 53-run partnership between rapper Vyuma and Dilip Okheda proved decisive in the inning of the celebrity team. Saugat Bista contributed 22 runs to take the team to a competitive score.
Chasing a target of 94 runs, the team owners of the Indoor Super League could not withstand the tight bowling of the celebrity team. Actor Bharat Karki took 1 wicket while model Purushottam Malik took 2 wickets. Saugat Bista and Dilip Okheda’s disciplined bowling helped Team Owners bowl out for 77 runs and Celebrity Cricket Utsav won by 16 runs. Celebrity Cricket Festival advisor Vicky Karki, actor Kumar Kattel, artist Tanka Timilsina, artist Ravi Oad, director Suresh Neupane and other artists and personalities were present in this friendly match.
The team was coordinated by Sanjeev Upadhyaya, co-founder of Celebrity Cricket Utsav.
The Indoor Super League is Nepal’s first franchise-based indoor cricket tournament, the second edition of which will be held from September 22 to 28 at the Velocity Arena, Golfutar, Kathmandu. In this edition, 10 franchise teams — Kathmandu Kailash Kings, Sudurpaschim Tigers, Pokhara Warriors, Maya Hetauda Royals, Mixmandu, Butwal Empires, Lalitpur All Stars, Lumbini Yorkers, Janakpur Kings and Biratnagar Battalion — will compete in the tournament. Kantipur Television has been appointed as the official broadcast partner of the tournament.
