Traffic check targeting festivals: Makawanpur Police in action
Hetauda. At a time when various roads across the country are in a dangerous condition due to floods, landslides and rains, the District Traffic Police Office, Makawanpur has tightened regular checking of vehicles as the festival approaches.
The Traffic Police has urged the passengers to travel only after taking information about the condition of the road and the condition of the vehicles in the destination.
The District Traffic Police Office, Makwanpur has been conducting regular checks at various places in the district. The police have also given priority to bringing the drivers under the influence of alcohol and drugs under the purview of legal action.
The Traffic Police has launched a special campaign to reduce road accidents during the festival season as the number of passengers increases and the movement of vehicles on the highway also increases. According to Ramesh Bista, Police Inspector at the District Traffic Police Office, Makawanpur, the checking campaign has been launched to increase the risk of road accidents due to over-speeding and overtaking in the highway as the festival season is approaching.
“As the festival approaches, the incidents of overtaking on the highway may increase. This will also increase the risk of traffic accidents, so we have started a strict checking campaign to reduce the accident,” he said.
The traffic police have said that they are working by giving priority to the safety of vehicles and passengers rather than revenue collection. The traffic police are working day and night to ensure smooth and safe travel for the passengers.
