Kathmandu. Suman Sharma, CEO of Prabhu Bank, has been suspended. Sharma has been suspended after a criminal case was filed in connection with the case of auctioning the mortgage even after approving the loan while he was at the then Sunrise Bank.
A case of cheating and criminal breach of trust has been filed against Sharma.
According to the Employees Bylaws of Prabhu Bank, approved by the Nepal Rastra Bank, employees are automatically suspended if a criminal case is filed. According to this provision, Sharma has been suspended. Meanwhile, a former official of the Rastra Bank is also lobbying to protect Sharma.
The aggrieved party had approached the police against the bank for not approving the loan but auctioning the collateral.
