The main agenda of the NC General Convention is policy, statute amendment and structural reform
. The 15th general convention of the Nepali Congress is going to be inaugurated at Tundikhel Khula Manch in Kathmandu on Sunday.
Speaking at a press conference, NC Spokesperson Devraj Chalise said that the party’s 15th general convention will clear the policies, programmes and political roadmap to be taken by the party for the next five years. He said that the Congress will take important decisions from the general convention on how to move forward in the process of political reform in Nepal. He said that the general convention will also hold in-depth discussions on the issues of organizing, strengthening and strengthening the party. He said that along with the structural reforms of the party, the general convention will also enter into the process of statute amendment. He said that the NC President would present the working paper on the path of the party for the next five years. According to him, the party’s views on Nepal’
s overall political situation, economic policy, production growth, employment generation and foreign policy will be presented in the working paper of the party.
BP Koirala had delivered his first public address after his return home from exile and Ganesh Man Singh had announced the end of autocratic regime after the success of the people’s movement of 2046 BS.
He said that about 50,000 new generation youths have come to various responsibilities through the process of the general convention and more than 7,000 delegates including them will participate in the general convention. According to him, youths below 35 years of age, democracy fighters, workers and professional groups and Nepalis living abroad will also be given the opportunity to represent in the central committee for the first time.
Spokesperson Chalise said that the main mantra of the party’s 15th general convention is ‘New Congress, New Resolve’.
He said that the draft of their implementation would be prepared after holding in-depth discussions on the new resolutions in the discussion session of the general convention.
He added that the general convention would move ahead the national resolution to connect democracy with the new generation, to make good governance the culture of the state and to show hope to the youths for the future along with the formulation of rules and procedures in the NC.
Stating that the Nepali Congress has created a lot of history in the past, Chalise claimed that it would now create a new history. He said that BP Koirala’s ideology would not be confined to history but would be linked to the future and BP would be taken forward as the ideological basis for the country’s prosperity.
He said that the number of delegates from home and abroad has been coming to Kathmandu to participate in the general convention.
The registration process for the general convention delegates has started at the party’s central office in Sanepa from today. The delegates have to pay Rs 3,500 per person for registration of participation.
