Kathmandu. Along with accommodation, food and snacks have also been arranged for the delegates participating in the 15th general convention of the Nepali Congress. The Nepali Congress has said that various preparations have been made to make it easier for the delegates coming to Kathmandu from home and abroad for the general convention.
According to Devraj Chalise, spokesperson of the Nepali Congress and coordinator of the 15th General Convention Information, Communication and Technology Committee, the registration process of the delegates has started from Saturday at the party’s central office, Sanepa. The delegates have to pay Rs 3,500 per person for registration of their participation. The Housing Management Committee has appointed one coordinator from each constituency, district and province to coordinate the settlement management of the convention delegates of the respective geography.
Arrangements have been made for the representatives to get information about the accommodation through WhatsApp, AI number and SMS.
Arrangements for food and snacks for the delegates attending the convention have also been made under the management of the convention. The Congress has said that necessary arrangements have been made keeping in mind the large number of delegates coming from the country and abroad.
The 15th general convention of the Nepali Congress (NC) will be inaugurated at the Tundikhel Khula Manch in Kathmandu on Sunday. The closed session will be held on October 1 and 20. The president, vice-president, general secretary and treasurer will present separate reports in the closed session.
The report will be divided into groups on the basis of geography and will be discussed in three different halls. Arrangements have been made for the participants to view and listen to the report through digital boards placed in each hall.
Meanwhile, the Election Committee has fixed the time for filing candidacy from 2 pm to 6 pm on October 2. The nomination of candidacy will be done at the National Assembly Hall.
Bhrikutimandap, Rastriya Sabha Griha and Old Bus Park area have been designated for parking private cars and motorcycles of the delegates participating in the general convention. For big buses, parking arrangements have been made in one lane from Maitighar to Bhadrakali.
According to the party, the general convention is expected to set the party’s policy, programme and political roadmap for the next five years.
