Nuwakot. A free health camp has been organized targeting the locals of Tarkeshwor Rural Municipality-2 who are facing difficulty in reaching the hospital due to road obstruction due to floods.
The health camps were jointly organized by Sahara Foundation Chairman Sudip Ghimire, Together for Change Chair Min Adhikari and Nepal Youth Council Chairman Saroj Baniya. According to the organizers, more than
300 locals were examined in the camp. After the health check-up, free medicines were also distributed.
There was a significant participation of locals especially those with eye problems. More than 150 eye check-ups were conducted and free spectacles were also distributed to the service recipients who needed them, said Baniya, president of Nepal Youth Council.
The camp is aimed at being held in all the six wards of Tarkeshwor and has been started from Ward No. 2, according to Adhikari who is also the chairman of Together for Change. Sudip Ghimire, who is also a medical practitioner and president of Sahara Foundation, made arrangements for the necessary medicines for the camp. Nepal Youth Council central president Baniya informed that health camp will be organized in Bidur municipality in the near future. The camp was organized at a time when the locals are finding it difficult to reach hospitals and health facilities for regular health services due to road disruption following the Bhotekoshi floods. The organizers said that the main objective of the program is to provide immediate relief to the people who have not been able to reach the hospital by providing health check-up and necessary medicines at the local level.
