Dr. Sunil Sharma to contest for NC General Secretary with determination to connect party with far-flung areas

Nepali Congress leader and medical practitioner Dr. Sunil Sharma has filed his candidacy for the post of General Secretary in the party’s 15th General Convention.

Sharma, who was elected to the central general convention delegate from Morang-3 with overwhelming majority, announced his candidacy for the post of General Secretary on Saturday.

Earlier, Dr. Sharma was preparing to contest for the post of General Secretary in the 15th General Convention of the Congress.

Sharma has announced his candidacy for the post of general secretary at a time when there is a debate on the selection of new leadership and office-bearers of the party. Dr. Sharma, who has been active in health, education and social service sectors, also vowed to connect his party with the people in the changing political context. Sharma has been active in the politics of Nepali Congress since 1998. He has been a member of the Mahasamiti since the 13th General Convention. He said that the NC would work by connecting the problems and needs of the common people with the center of politics.
