Bhotekoshi Flood Update: 1,457 bodies found

Kathmandu. As of 5 am on Monday, 1,457 bodies have been recovered due to the devastating floods in Bhotekoshi of Rasuwa.

Of them, 236 were found in Rasuwa, 205 in Nuwakot, 73 in Dhading, 369 in Chitwan, 80 in Gorkha, 38 in Tanahun, 232 in Nawalparasi East and 222 in Nawalparasi West. Two people died while undergoing treatment in Kathmandu. So far, 1,334 bodies have been collected (preserved under the soil) after completing the necessary procedures to identify the bodies found. A total of 3,413 DNA samples, including 1,336 of the deceased and 2,077 of the relatives, have been collected for the identification of the bodies. ,975 police personnel have been mobilized for rescue, search, relief distribution, dead body management and other works in the flood-affected areas. So far, the search for 4,718 missing people is underway. Similarly, 1,226 people have been kept in holding centers in different districts.
