Maha Aarti begins at Dudhmati River from today
Janakpurdham. Maha Aarti has started in Dudhmati River of Dhanusha from today.
With the objective of conserving the Dudhmati River, which carries religious and cultural importance, the Maha Aarti has been started at the initiative of an organization named ‘Umbrella Initiative’ at the Dudhmati Arjan Ghat of Khireshwornath Municipality Ward No. 5.
Thousands of local devotees were present on the occasion of the Maha Aarti starting from today. Amrendra Yadav, a local activist who is leading the Maha Aarti, said that the Maha Aarti is being attended by local devotees, sadhus and religious activists. He said that the main purpose of starting the Maha Aarti in Dudhmati is to conserve the river along with the religious campaign.
There is a religious belief that the river originated from the milk of Kamdhenu cow, who came to earth to feed Sita at the time of Sita’
s birth in the Treta Yuga.
Speaking at the event, Madhes Province Speaker Ram Ashish Yadav said that the campaign would be successful only with the cooperation of all.
He said that this campaign would further strengthen the conservation of rivers.
