Congress General Convention: Central Working Committee meeting to decide agenda for closed session, leaders to meet at Khula Manch
Kathmandu. The formal election process for the election of a new leadership under the 15th general convention of the Nepali Congress has begun from today. With the inauguration ceremony of the general convention concluded at Khula Manch in Kathmandu on Sunday, the Nepali Congress is moving towards the election process through a closed session.
A meeting of the Central Working Committee is being held at Khula Manch. Congress leaders have started coming to the Khula Manch for the Central Committee meeting. After tea, snacks and snacks, the leaders have started coming to the Khula Manch.
According to NC Spokesperson Devraj Chalise, the closed session will be started only after the central working committee endorses the report to be presented in the closed session of the party’s 15th general convention.
He said, “The party has given responsibilities to various committees. According to that responsibility, they present the proposal, the meeting will approve the agenda according to the right and the closed session will be held on the basis of that.” According to him, in the closed session, the political report of President Gagan Kumar Thapa, the amendment of the statute of the general secretary and the financial report of the treasurer will be presented.
The closed session will discuss the political and current affairs of the party. After the completion of the closed session, the process of electing a new central working committee, which is the main task of the general convention, will proceed.
The General Convention Election Committee has scheduled the publication of the final voter list of the delegates at 5 pm. After the publication of the voters’ list, the process of protesting and scrutinizing the claims will proceed. The final voters’ list will be published after conducting necessary scrutiny on the claims received.
The Election Committee has made necessary preparations to include the general convention delegates in the election.
Tuesday Nomination of candidacy
According to the election schedule, the process of filing nominations will proceed on Tuesday. For the post of president, vice-president, general secretary, joint general secretary and central member of the party, candidacy will be registered.
With the nomination of the candidature, the competition for the new leadership of the Congress is expected to become more clear. The aspirants of the party president, office-bearers and central members have already intensified their internal discussions and meetings.
