Kalikot. The Sher Bahadur Deuba faction has started preparations for the district convention in Kalikot targeting the 15th general convention of the Nepali Congress.
The Deuba faction has expedited the preparations for the convention by appointing convention preparation coordinators in all the nine local levels of the district as well as in the provincial elections.
Matrika Singh, district coordinator of the party, said that the party has assigned the responsibility of coordinators at the state and local levels to make the convention and election preparations systematic. The meeting has appointed Manraj Shahi as the coordinator of Province ‘A’ and Megraj Bista as the coordinator of Province ‘B’. According to Singh, Bhanu Bhakta Sharma Acharya has been appointed as coordinator of Khandachakra Municipality, Katak Bahadur Shahi of Shuvakalika Rural Municipality, Dharmaraj Shahi of Tilagufa Municipality, Narahari Shahi of Mahabai Rural Municipality, Dhruba Bikram Shahi of Naraharinath Rural Municipality, Birendra KC of Sanni Triveni Rural Municipality, Bhim Bahadur Shahi of Raskot Municipality, Tek Bahadur Bogati of Pachaljharana Rural Municipality and Dilu Bam of Palata Rural Municipality. Coordinator Singh told Nepal News Bank that the preparations for the convention have gained momentum with the allocation of responsibilities from the local level to the provincial constituencies by the Deuba faction. He informed that the ward and municipal conventions are currently being held. He said that with the responsibility of coordinators, convention preparation, cadre mobilization and organizational activities have become more active at ward and local levels.
