Kathmandu. Domestic airlines companies have agreed to sell tickets at lower prices than the approved fare after complaints were raised about the increase in air fares as Dashain approached. After Prime Minister Balendra Shah expressed concern over the increase in the price of air tickets during the festivals, the discussion was initiated by Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Khadak Raj Poudel (Ganesh).
In this connection, the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) held discussions with the officials and representatives of the airlines operating domestic flights on Thursday. In the discussion, it was agreed to provide tickets at a price lower than the approved maximum fare to provide relief to the passengers.
According to CAN Director General Mukesh Dangol, now airlines will be able to sell tickets at a lower price than the approved fare. In addition, it has been agreed that the discount or fixed fare should be made public on the sales and distribution platforms of the concerned company so that passengers can easily get information about the actual price of the ticket.
It is expected that the new system will provide some relief to the passengers in the context of complaints that the number of passengers increases during the festival season and the ticket price has been made expensive on the occasion of the festival.
