Khuma Aryal’s helpdesk at the venue of the general convention, hundreds of delegates benefit
Kathmandu. More than 500 general convention delegates have been directly benefited from the help desk set up at the initiative of Khuma Prasad Aryal, a candidate for the central member of the Nepali Congress.
The Khuma Aryal Foundation has set up the helpdesk with the objective of providing immediate facilitation to the delegates participating in the general convention in the voting process, necessary information and various practical problems. According to the Foundation, the help desk has been done by providing necessary information to the representatives from different districts and provinces of the country and facilitating various processes.
The Helpdesk, which was operated keeping in mind the convenience and ease of the representatives amidst the election competition, has been linked to the concept of ‘Greater Service than Politics’. It is said that the Helpdesk has been operated to give the message that even while competing for political posts, the needs and problems of the representatives can be served by prioritizing them.
According to the Foundation, the fact that 547 delegates have taken direct services has shown the need and utility of the helpdesk. The foundation claims that the general convention should be taken forward not only as a leadership selection and election competition but also as an opportunity to facilitate, support and serve the participating delegates.
Aryal, who is active in business, social service and organizational role of the Nepali Congress, has filed his candidacy for the post of central member from the open geography of Gandaki Province in the 15th general convention of the Nepali Congress. Aryal, who has been giving priority to the participation of the younger generation, new thinking and service-oriented political culture, has been of the view that the political post should be made a medium of social responsibility and service rather than personal gain.
Running a helpdesk to address the needs of the delegates during the general convention has been presented as a practical exercise in his service-oriented political thinking. The foundation says that this initiative, which focuses on the ease and necessity of the delegates along with the election campaign, has given a message that the culture of service and responsibility can be prioritized beyond the political competition.
