Dhading. The flood in the Budhigandaki River has swept away the squatters’ settlement of Syauli Bazaar in Bishalnagar of Tripurasundari Rural Municipality-2 in Dhading.
The settlement adjacent to the riverbank area has been washed away by the mud like a lump of cement and sand.
Krishna Bahadur Khatri of Tripurasundari Rural Municipality-2 said that the squatters were completely swept away. Khatri said that around 60 houses were damaged in the squatters’ settlement and Syauli Bazaar.
The flood has also washed away the concrete bridge of Arughat connecting Dhading and Gorkha. Half of the bridge has been washed away on the Gorkha side and the road towards Dhading has been flooded. Houses in the coastal areas have also been damaged.
