Finance Minister Malla presented a budget of Rs 37.70 billion
Dhangadhi. This is the second time the budget has been presented in the Far-Western Provincial Assembly in a single fiscal year.
Earlier, the outgoing Chief Minister Kamal Bahadur Shah-led government had allocated the budget in the provincial assembly on June 15, but it failed after the ruling CPN-UML withdrew its support in the middle. A new government was formed under the leadership of NCP parliamentary party leader Khagaraj Bhatta on August 12 with the support of the UML. A few months after the formation of the government, the budget was presented for the second time in the provincial assembly on Sunday.
Provincial Minister for Economic Affairs Chakramalla presented a budget of Rs 37.70 billion for the current fiscal year 2083÷084 in the provincial assembly on Sunday. In the budget presented by him, Rs 1.72 billion was allocated for internal mobilization and Rs 10.24 billion from revenue from the government of Nepal. Rs.
70 million to be received from the allocation of federal royalties. Financial equalization grant from the Government of Nepal Rs. 9.06 billion. Rs. 9.65 billion to be saved from the allocation of the previous fiscal year. Rs. 6.03 billion to be received from conditional grants. The estimated amount from the federal supplementary grant is Rs. 38.80 crores and the estimated amount from the special grant is Rs. 52.76 crores.
In the budget for the current fiscal year, the provincial government has given priority to agriculture, indigenous people, climate change mitigation program, physical infrastructure expansion and other sectors. The government has put forward plans for road infrastructure, electricity expansion and cable car construction in religious and tourist areas including Badimalika and Khaptad.
