Mahottari. On the auspicious occasion of Bada Dashain, a Shanti Kalash Shobha Yatra has been taken out in Matihani of Mahottari with the objective of promoting world peace, human welfare and religious harmony.
Thousands of devotees, locals and distinguished people from different walks of life participated in the procession. On the occasion, Matihani Municipality Mayor Hari Prasad Mandal expressed the belief that religious and cultural festivals would awaken the spirit of mutual unity, harmony and tolerance in the society. He said that such religious programs would further strengthen the relations of peace, harmony and brotherhood in the society. The procession organized by the Adarsha Durga Puja Committee, Matihani started from the premises of the historic Durga Temple at Matihani.
The procession went through the main roads of Matihani and reached the premises of Durga Temple after filling the Kalash at Laxmi Sagar at Matihani.
During the procession, the devotees chanted the praises of Durga Bhavani and filled the atmosphere of the city with religious and spiritual emotions. The main attraction of the procession was the symbolic tableaux of the nine Shaktipeeths of Durga Bhawani, attractive decorations, musical instruments and performances by various religious groups.
