Kathmandu. Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Chairman Rajendra Lingden has said that the party should be restructured and taken forward.

Addressing the Kathmandu district convention of Nepal Sanatana Dharma and Culture Organization held at the party office in Dhumbarahi on Tuesday, Lingden said that the upcoming general convention should prove to be a milestone in the life of RPP. He said that the party’s upcoming general convention should not be limited to formalities but should be made a turning point for the party.

“This convention is not just a process,” he said. Every four years, every five years, we have to elect a new leadership, we have to hold a general convention, and therefore we are fulfilling that obligation, we are fulfilling that formality. We have to prove that the coming general convention is a milestone in the life of RPP. In some contexts, if we emphasize any issue, it says ‘either it did or died’. We do not have the luxury of dying. Therefore, we have to do our work in the sense that it has been done, RPP has moved forward and grown. The coming general convention will be a turning point in the life of our party, a moment that will raise the Rastriya Prajatantra Party in its entirety. “

He stressed on the need to create an environment to attract new members to the party. Stating that the RPP could not be expanded as expected only with the members of the party, he said that the door should be opened for millions of new people to join the party.

“The RPP will not be enough just to have as many people as we are now. If we do not grow other people, if we do not develop RPP as a party of the common people, but if we embrace it, then this party will be big?” he asked.

Lingden claimed that people belonging to various political parties are joining the RPP spontaneously. He said that Mohan Giri, who was elected as the chairman of Ramkot VDC twice from the CPN-UML, has joined the RPP, adding that their entry has further encouraged the party.

He also mentioned that Rachana, who was a member of the district committee of the UML from Banke, has also joined the RPP. He said that leaders and cadres of various parties from other places are also preparing to join the RPP.

Commenting that Nepal’

s politics is in a state of uncertainty, Chairman Lingden said that RPP should be the force to give a way out and direction to the country. He said that it is the responsibility of all leaders and cadres to prepare RPP as a party that can face the future challenges and lead the country.
