Nuwakot. Commuters returning home during Dashain from Simutar to Gumbadanda in Nuwakot are compelled to take the help of tuins and ziplines.

Passengers have had to take risk as the construction of the bailey bridge was not completed on time.

The Bailey Bridge, which was supposed to come into operation two days ago, will be inaugurated only on Thursday. Commuters are compelled to wait for hours to cross the river from the tuin as the bridge is not operational.

Maya Tamang of Bidur Municipality-13, who was returning home to celebrate Dashain, said she had to wait for about an hour before climbing the tuin. She said, “We waited for an hour, and finally it was our turn. I was not scared, but it would have been a little easier if there was a suspension bridge than a tuin.” “

Due to the road blockage, the price of daily essentials has also increased,” she said. “The impact is huge. Goods are becoming very expensive, the road has become very long, and goods are also becoming very expensive.

That’s why there should be a bailey bridge soon, the road should also be built soon,” she said.

She demanded that there should be a smooth movement for the passengers returning home during Dashain and Tihar. She said that although there was no major incident in her place, her relatives were affected by the landslide incident.

The delay in the construction of the bridge has further troubled the locals and passengers at a time when the number of passengers returning home during the festival is increasing. With the operation of the Bailey Bridge, it is expected that the compulsion to resort to tuins and ziplines will be removed and the commuting will be easier.
