Kathmandu. Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) parliamentary party leader and lawmaker Gyanendra Shahi has expressed dissatisfaction over the structure and working style of the local level. He said that the local level has become a hub for recruiting party cadres, saying that they are compelled to go to the door of the federal government ministers for the appointment of administrative officers of the local level.
Shahi said, “Today, there is a compulsion to come to the door of the ministers of the federal government for the appointment of administrative officers of the local level, the local level has become like a center for recruiting party workers. Today, there are 200 to 300 employees in a rural municipality. If the budget of Rs 20 crore is gone, then Rs 10 crore will go to the salary. If all of them are made to loot, then what has been done like this? Where is the body that regulates the local level?”
Stressing that the incumbent government should run the parliament in an effective manner, he urged the ruling party not to run away from the parliament.
“Bring the bill, let’s discuss. There is a problem of squatters. The government’s work has brought fake squatters under the legal ambit, we have openly praised it. But those who are real squatters are also citizens of this country,” he said.
