Kathmandu. CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli has said that the people lost their respective leaders Madan Bhandari and Jibraj Ashrit in the Dasdhunga incident 33 years ago. Extending best wishes on the occasion of the 33rd memorial day of Madan Ashrit today, Chairman Oli said this.
Although the wounds were old, he recalled that the memories of his pain deepened as time went on. People’s leader Madan Bhandari was my leader, friend and comrade. Jivraj Ashrit was a skilled organiser. ’
Stating that Madan Bhandari was the pioneer of building people’s multiparty democracy giving a new ideological definition to the communist movement, Oli said that he remembered his faith and worked closely during that period.
“People’s multiparty democracy, which gave fundamental refinement as per the times, gave a strong voice to the movements and gave a roadmap to take the dream of change to people’s lives, we have taken this as the campaign to fulfill the national aspiration of ‘Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepali’,” PM Oli said in a message of best wishes in the social media.
He said that in the last decade, this campaign has also started to bring changes in the development of human and physical infrastructure. He said that although Madan Bhandari-Jivraj Ashrit and many seniors and fighters born out of this movement are not physically among us today, their thoughts and contributions are like a beacon in the political journey.
According to him, the idea of people’s multiparty democracy is not a tool to gain popularity for a season but to stand on the ground of reality.
