PM Shah and ADB Chairman hold talks

Kathmandu. Asian Development Bank (ADB) President Masato Kanda paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Balendra Shah at the latter’s office in Singha Durbar today. During the courtesy call between PM Shah and ADB President Kanda on strengthening the 6-decade long development partnership between the Government of Nepal and ADB, both sides expressed commitment to mutual cooperation.

According to PM’s press and research expert Deepa Dahal, during the half-an-hour courtesy call, PM Shah expressed his confidence that Nepal would take a new stride in the development through good governance and transparency in the days ahead.

Both sides held positive discussions on promoting hydropower and tourism as the backbone of Nepal’s economy, collaborating on digitalization and tourism road infrastructure.

ADB president Kanda pledged to further expand development cooperation in Nepal and pledged to remain a long-term partner for Nepal’s economic development and prosperity.

Appreciating the huge potential of Nepal’s economic sector, strong people’s mandate, and young leadership, he reiterated ADB’s commitment to always stand with Nepal for its success.

Nepal’s youth leadership and commitment to reform is inspiring, he said.
