Shishir Kumar Murarka
Nepal Mobility Expo 2026
40 new products to be launched
Kathmandu. The Naima Mobility Expo is going to be held amidst the growing attraction of electric vehicles (EVs) in the Nepali automobile market.
Most of the 55 brands participating in the expo are set to prioritize electric vehicles and future mobility technologies.
According to Shishir Kumar Murarka, planning committee member of Naima Mobility Expo, 55 brands will participate through 52 stalls and around 40 new products will be launched.
‘This time the new launches will be the main attraction of the expo. Customers will be able to see new technology, models and future vehicle technology from one platform,” Murarka said.
As the EV market is rapidly expanding in Nepal, the expo will showcase electric vehicles, charging technologies, new designs and smart mobility solutions to consumers. According to Murarka, not only the vehicles currently being sold in Nepal but also the models of technology that can be brought to the market in the future will also be displayed in the expo.
“Some brands are introducing new concept vehicles to show off the technology of the future. Customers in Nepal will be able to see first-hand the development of EVs and other technologies in China and India,” he said.
According to him, some brands are also preparing to showcase left-hand drive models.
He said that such vehicles will indicate the technology that can come to Nepal in the future.
Murarka said that the expo will not only sell new vehicles but also contribute to the overall auto market.
“There is a tradition of Nepali consumers buying vehicles during the Dashain festival. It will be easier for customers to make a decision as they can understand all the offers, technology and features of all the brands in one platform.
According to him, banks, insurance companies and exchange partners will also participate in the expo.
With this, customers will be able to avail vehicle purchase finance, insurance, and old vehicle exchange services from one place.
Murarka said that this is the right time to buy a vehicle as the banking interest rate is comparatively low.
“Interest rates are cheap now. The financial burden of the customer is also reduced. So it’s a good time to buy a car,” he said.
With the rise in the number of EVs in Nepal, the management of service centers and spare parts is seen as a challenge, but brands are improving.
According to him, sometimes there may be problems in the availability of spare parts due to road disruption in the border area, international supply problem or delay in transportation. However, he claims that there is no situation to provide service after selling the vehicle.
‘It’s not a big problem that the car didn’t make it or the brand didn’t serve the customer. There may be delays in some cases, but companies are working on improving service and spare parts,” he said.
Special arrangement from parking to digital ticket
Special attention has been given to parking management this time for the convenience of the visitors.
Murarka informed that the Blue Pavilion located on the opposite side of Bhrikutimandap will be used as a parking lot during the Expo.
Similarly, digital tickets have been arranged. Tickets can be purchased through Khalti by IME and there is an arrangement of cashback and discount for students on payment of Union Pay.
According to him, the Naima Mobility Expo will not only be a vehicle expo but also an important platform to showcase the new auto technology and future mobility in Nepal
