One killed in truck accident in Makwanpur
A person was killed when a truck met with an accident along the Tribhuvan Highway at Bhimphedi-2 in Makwanpur district on Thursday morning. One person was injured.
According to the police, the six-wheeler truck (Madhesh State 03-002 Kha 5095) en route to Birgunj from Palung skidded off the road at around 2.30 am due to rain and thick fog.
Truck driver Ranjit Karki, 23, of Raksirang rural municipality-9 in Makawanpur was injured in the accident.
His condition is said to be moderate.
The deceased has been identified as Arjun Karki, 36, the uncle of the truck driver.
Truck driver Ranjit Karki, 23, and his cousin Arjun, 36, of Raksirang-9 of Makawanpur were rescued from injuries and taken to Hetauda for treatment. Doctors at Hetauda Hospital declared Arjun dead at 9:15 am.
