Mugu. The Alka Sangu motorable bridge area under the Gamgadhi-Nakchya road section has been reopened after 18 months at the initiative of Chhayanath Rara Municipality.
The road section located in Chhayanath Rara Municipality-1 has been obstructed for long due to a dispute over compensation.
Locals had blocked the road after the dispute over compensation for the land required for the operation of the 40-meter-long and 11-meter wide bridge constructed by the Road Division Office, Jumla, could not be resolved.
Landowner Dhan Bahadur Malla and Chhayanath Rara Municipality have reached an agreement on compensation following the initiative led by Mayor Bishnu Kumar Bham.
With the agreement, the obstruction on the road has been removed.
According to the municipality, vehicular operation along the road section has been resumed from August 2, 2083 after the agreement was reached.
It is expected to ease the movement of the locals and passengers along the Gamgadhi-Nakcha area after the road comes into operation.
Although the bridge was constructed for a long time, the road could not come into use due to the dispute over land compensation.
Now that the dispute has been resolved, both the bridge and the road are fully operational ।
