Sirha. KATHMANDU: A high-level probe committee formed to probe the death of Ganesh Yadav during the agitation at Golbazaar of Siraha following the Sunsari incident has returned to Kathmandu after completing the preliminary investigation.
The probe team led by Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Home Affairs Pushpa Raj Shahi had inspected the site for three days, collected facts and evidences and held discussions with stakeholders.
The team returned to Kathmandu after completing the initial phase of investigation.
According to Under-Secretary at the Ministry of Home Affairs and Member Secretary of the Committee, Kulshekhar Aryal, the team has consulted with representatives of various political parties, Chamber of Commerce and Industry, local community, eyewitnesses, security bodies and the Chief District Officer to collect information about the incident.
The team had also met the injured people in Dharan during the agitation. Quoting doctors involved in his treatment, Undersecretary Aryal said the injured are now normal and they have been informed that they would be discharged from the hospital within two to three days.
The committee said it was preparing to submit a detailed report to the Ministry of Home Affairs within the stipulated timeframe.
Earlier, the team had inspected the incident site on Monday and had participated in an all-party meeting presided over by Golbazaar Municipality Mayor Shyam Kumar Shrestha on Tuesday and collected further information and suggestions from the representatives of the political parties.
