Dry landslide at Tatopani Customs Area, damages to Armed Police Force structures

Kathmandu Several structures at the Armed Police Force (APF) border outpost (BOP) at Tatopani have been damaged in a landslide that occurred at the Tatopani customs area in ward no. 3 of Bhotekoshi rural municipality-3 in Sindhupalchowk district on Friday night.

According to the Armed Police Force, the dry landslide occurred from around 200 to 300 meters high towards the north-west side of the BOP at around 1.15 am on Friday, causing damages to the police structures.

No human casualties have been reported in the incident.

The landslide has shattered the window pane of one of the windows of the first line barrack and six holes have been made in the roof of the second line barrack.

Similarly, one duty post has been completely damaged while the other duty post has been partially damaged. There was also a hole in the wall of the bathroom of the APF inspector. Mountain jackets, poles with national flags, Commodity Store building and staircase in front of the main entrance have also been damaged, according to the APF.

After the incident, the details of the damage and necessary security arrangements are underway.
