Kathmandu. The Inland Revenue Department (IRD) has announced the first bumper prize winner under the Taxpayer Incentive Gift Program. According to the department, a consumer who bought goods worth Rs 250 from Shiva Krishna General Store in Punarbas Municipality of Kanchanpur has won a bumper cash prize of Rs 1 million.
The prize was announced through the first draw held on the basis of purchase from July 1 to July 29. According to the Department, the winners were selected from among the consumers who purchased goods and services under the taxpayer incentive program.
The department has launched this program with the aim of encouraging taxpayers to take bills and participate in the tax system. Now, on the 16th and last day of every month, the gift will be announced regularly.
