Janakpur. It has been revealed that most of the schools in Janakpurdham Sub-Metropolitan City have been charging money from the students who have received scholarships.

The Janakpurdham Sub-Metropolitan City has imposed strict restrictions after the students started complaining. The education committee of the sub-metropolis held discussions with the institutional (private) schools on Friday and directed them not to charge more than the prescribed ceiling from the scholarship students.

The committee has decided to charge a maximum of Rs 7,000 from class 1 to 5, a maximum of Rs 9,000 from class 6 to 8 and a maximum of

Rs 10,000 from class 9 to 10.

The committee has clarified that no fee can be charged under any heading beyond this limit set by the committee and warned of further action including fine if found charging more fees.

It was also decided in the discussion that the schools that have already charged more than the prescribed limit should compulsorily return the extra amount to the concerned students.
