Sabin wins Top 16 Grand Masters Snooker Champion

Savin becomes the champion of the Top 16 Grand Masters Snooker

. KATHMANDU: Sabin Tamang has clinched the title of the first Kathmandu Sports Mandal (NRT) Nepal Top 16 Grand Masters Snooker Championship on Saturday. 

Sabin defeated Rohit Chhetri 6-1 in the final of the tournament organized by Kathmandu Sports Mandal (NRT), one of the oldest clubs in Nepal.

 

Sabin won the final 59-32, 1-70, 73-52, 59-41, 74-22, 68-13, 67-17.

This is the third time Sabin has defeated Rohit. At the same time, Rohit has lost in the final for the second time in a row. Rohit had lost to Som Lama in the final of the Nepal Masters Snooker Tournament. 

After winning the tournament held at NRT’s own building in Tripureshwor, Sabin received a cash prize of Rs 111,111.

Runner-up Rohit was rewarded with Rs 51,000.

Likewise, the semi-finalists Wangchu Tamang and Rajan Gurung were rewarded with Rs 25,

000 each.

Chief guest KKM NRT Patron Committee member Durga Maharjan, Bagmati Province Assembly member Dipendra Shrestha, NRT President Sundar Narsingh Joshi, General Secretary Satish Krishna Shrestha, tournament coordinator Rajendra Shakya (Maila) and Nepal Billiard Snooker Association President Saroj Mulmi distributed the trophies and prizes to the winners.

competition started on July 29 ।
