. Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) lawmaker Saraswati Lama has said that religious institutions should be brought under the ambit of equal and transparent laws.
Speaking at the meeting of the House of Representatives on Monday, lawmaker Lama said that the security of all those killed and injured in the incidents in Kaptangunj and Golbazar are Nepali citizens.”All those killed and
injured in the incidents in Kaptanganj and Golbazar are Nepali nationals, irrespective of religious reasons,” she said. The damage done is ultimately the loss of Nepal and Nepalis. It is the weakness of the state that it cannot protect the life and property of its citizens. “The government should adopt necessary security, coordination and long-term measures to prevent such incidents from recurring in the future,” she said.
Stating that Nepal is a multi-ethnic, multi-lingual, multi-religious and multi-cultural nation, she said religious tolerance is Nepal’s specialty.”All religious centres including monasteries, temples, monasteries, mosques, churches are important monuments of our civilization, culture and social unity,” she said. Stressing the need to bring all religious organizations under the equal and transparent legal ambit, she said that it should be mandatory for religious organizations to be registered with the concerned government bodies. He also demanded regular auditing of religious institutions to make their financial resources transparent.
He has demanded to strictly stop all kinds of illegal activities in the name of religion.
“It is not an interference on any religion or faith, but it is good governance, transparency, social harmony and guarantee of national interest.” All kinds of illegal activities in the name of religion should be strictly stopped and uniform legal standards should be enforced for all religious institutions,” she said.
