. Nepali Congress lawmaker Renuka Kaucha has said that the Prime Minister should answer the questions raised in the parliament without being afraid of the opposition.
Speaking at a meeting of the House of Representatives on Monday, lawmaker Kaucha said that the parliament asking questions was not a siege and the opposition’s demand for answers was not unhelpful.
“Mr. Prime Minister, asking questions by the parliament is not a siege, it is not non-cooperation for the opposition to demand answers and it is not an insult to warn the government,” she said.
She questioned how the Prime Minister had to make a statement through social media that he felt ‘lonely’ when the lawmakers of the ruling party tried to warn the government.
She said, “Why did the Prime Minister have to fight alone? This can be estimated in a variety of ways. But on behalf of the opposition, I want to make one thing clear today: take off your glasses, you are not alone. The opposition is with you in taking the right steps in the interest of the country. “But the opposition cannot remain silent on weakening the process, democratic norms and values, constitution, parliamentary dignity and parliament supremacy,” she said.
Stating that the Prime Minister is the Prime Minister not only of the ruling party but of all Nepalis, she questioned whether she felt that the controversial remarks on border issues raised in the parliament had affected the political credibility of the Prime Minister. She said that the Prime Minister’
s remarks on a sensitive issue like the border will have an impact on Nepal’s diplomatic opinion, bilateral relations and international credibility.
She questioned how much she listened to the minister’s suggestions, saying that the Prime Minister is alone in his own cabinet. Stating that the Prime Minister was not alone, she pledged to support the opposition if she moved ahead in the interest of the country.
‘Mr. Prime Minister, you are not alone. You move forward in the interest of the country, the opposition will stand with you. But no one is above the constitution, there is no political forum bigger than the parliament, no political party is bigger than the national interest, and the secretariat alone cannot govern,” she said.
