. Biratnagar: The Biratnagar Jute Mill, which was closed for long, is to resume operation. The government is preparing to reopen Biratnagar Jute Mill following the initiative to reopen Hetauda Textile Mill.
The government has formed a task force comprising experts to evaluate economic, technical and legal aspects to carry out feasibility study for the operation of Biratnagar Jute Mill.
A secretary-level meeting held on Monday decided to form the taskforce.
The task force formed under the coordination of the secretary of the corporation under the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies will carry out a detailed study of the jute mill including its physical infrastructure, condition of machines and equipment, assets and liabilities.
The task force has been directed to submit a report along with possible options for resumption of jute mills and necessary strategies within a month.
