You don’t make yourself good by abusing others: Shashank Koirala
Kathmandu. Nepali Congress leader Dr Shashank Koirala has said support from all quarters was needed to make the upcoming general convention a success by maintaining unity in the party.
Addressing a youth gathering organized by the Nepali Congress Sindhu-Kathmandu Liaison Committee on Monday, Koirala recalled that BP Koirala and Krishna Prasad Koirala had contributed to the rights and freedom of Nepali people through long struggle. Stating that the Nepali Congress has carried out important works in the history, he said that his side would not be strengthened by abusing anyone in the party.
‘You don’t look ugly to others. Why do we criticize Gagan Thapa? You don’t have to abuse,” he said. So why do you rebuke him? Don’t say anything, that’s the biggest insult,” he said.
Koirala said that he was in a difficult situation after the party gave him the responsibility of coordinator and said that it was his priority to unify the party by taking everyone along.
“I am a lonely person, but what I want is my priority to unite the party by including everyone,” he said. If you help, if you join hands, it will be very strong,” he said.
He said that the Nepali Congress has improved from struggle and the future of the party is in the hands of the youths.
“Today’s youth prove that the Nepali Congress of tomorrow will be stronger,” he said.
Nepali Congress has entered a new phase of struggle: Sitaula
Similarly, another leader Krishna Prasad Sitaula said that the party has entered a new phase of struggle.
Sitaula said that the latest developments have ushered the party into a new phase of struggle.
He urged the cadres to move forward with patience and said that they were with them.
“Is the Nepali Congress entering a new phase again?
There is a sense that a new phase of struggle is entering. You keep moving forward, we are together. “
He claimed that there was no special incident in the history of Nepali Congress. “The incidents of arson, vandalism and mass attacks on Singha Durbar, Supreme Court, Rashtrapati Bhawan and Parliament House were serious issues,” he said.
‘Such an incident has never happened in the history of Nepali Congress. The dissolution of the Central Working Committee in the name of special general convention was a novelty in history. “There was never any fire in Singha Durbar, Supreme Court, Rashtrapati Bhawan and Parliament House in Nepal,” he said.
He also said that there was vandalism, arson, looting and criminal attacks on the Congress president and cadres, adding that such incidents were not during any of the past struggles. Sitaula also expressed dissatisfaction over the decision taken by the Election Commission after the special general convention.
He claimed that the decision was against the NC statute, election laws and the constitution.
Stating that the Supreme Court has paved the way for a review of the Election Commission’s decision, he said he was hopeful that the NC would get justice. Sitaula also took exception to the attack on party President Sher Bahadur Deuba.
He said that he could not understand the statement of the party’s general secretary demanding his removal when Deuba was in the hospital.
He urged all leaders and cadres to move ahead by uniting the NC and protecting democratic norms and values
