Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives, Federal Affairs and General Administration is to resume on-site facilitation in some municipalities of Madhes Province that have not been able to present the budget for the current fiscal year.
According to the Ministry, a joint team led by Joint Secretary of the Ministry comprising representatives from the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, National Vigilance Centre and Chairpersons of Municipalities Association of Nepal among others will visit the concerned municipalities for facilitation. According to the Ministry, although efforts are being made to create an environment to present the budget through various initiatives, efforts and coordination, the team is going to visit the local levels where the budget has not been presented in the municipal assembly so far. The team will reach Kamala Municipality of Dhanusha, Garuda Municipality, Fatuwa Bijayapur Municipality and Maulapur Municipality of Rautahat district and hold direct discussions with the local people’s representatives, employees and stakeholders.
The Ministry has stated that necessary facilitation and coordination would be made by identifying the problems seen in budget formulation and municipal assembly operation.
The Ministry is going to facilitate on-site to resolve the problem as the service delivery and development works may be affected due to the obstruction of the budget process of the local level for a long time.
The Ministry has been continuously providing necessary coordination and facilitation to resolve the problems related to the budget and the conduct of the assembly at the local level.
