Oil Corporation urges traders not to stock up on gas unnecessarily,
Kathmandu.KATHMANDU: Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has urged the business houses not to stock more LP gas cylinders than required by the government.
Issuing a notice on Thursday, the NOC has urged hotels, restaurants, party palaces and other business establishments not to stock LP gas cylinders beyond the requirement. The NOC has been supplying and selling 14.2 kilograms of gas cylinders in the market.
According to the NOC, 14.2 kg cylinders have been sold in the market since July 14.
The NOC has drawn the attention of the corporation after complaints that the general public has not been able to get gas easily in the market despite the import and sale of LPG by 20 percent more than before. According to the NOC, the monitoring carried out on the basis of complaints and information received at the Rapid Response Desk of the corporation found that some hotels, restaurants, party palaces and other business establishments had excess stock of gas cylinders. The corporation has urged such establishments not to store gas cylinders unnecessarily and to immediately sell them to the general consumers through the concerned depots if the stock is already kept.
