Shankar Group’s exemplary support in the wake of the disaster: Hands over Rs 40 million to the government, donates 2,500 tarpaulins
Kathmandu. Shankar Group, a reputed business house of Nepal, has donated Rs 40 million to the government for the relief, rescue and rehabilitation of the people affected by the floods in Bhotekoshi on Wednesday.
Deepa Agrawal, director of the group, handed over a cheque of the assistance amount to the Finance Minister. The amount has been donated to the Prime Minister’s Natural Disaster Relief Fund with the aim of providing immediate help to the families of the victims in this difficult time of natural calamity.
In addition to the cash assistance, the Shankar Group in coordination with the Ministry of Home Affairs had taken forward the relief work in a lucrative manner in the initial phase of the disaster. On the third day of the disaster, the Chief District Officer of Rupandehi has provided 2,500 tarpaulin tents worth Rs 25 lakh to the displaced families and arranged safe shelter. Nchaygau has expressed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members while expressing heartfelt condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the disaster.
It also expressed its high respect and gratitude to the security agencies, civil servants and local organizations who have been working round the clock in rescue and relief work.
