Ramechhap. The all-party meeting has taken various decisions for immediate and long-term management to make the rescue, relief and rehabilitation works effective after the damage caused by the devastating floods in Rasuwa.
The meeting presided over by Chief District Officer Narendra Pariyar of Bagmati Province and Chief Minister of Bagmati Province Kiran Thapa took the decision to give priority to the rescue of flood-hit people, safe relocation, relief distribution, road and infrastructure reconstruction. Addressing the meeting, Chief Minister Thapa said the damage caused by floods in Rasuwa was unimaginable and all government mechanisms have been mobilized to make rescue and relief works effective. Stating that rescue and management of the affected people was the main priority at present, he directed the concerned bodies to actively mobilize human resources, equipment, food, medicine and other relief materials to prevent the shortage of necessary human resources, equipment, food, medicine and other relief materials.
The meeting has decided to immediately repair the roads and other infrastructure damaged by the floods and bring the vehicles into operation. For this, arrangements will be made to mobilize resources by coordinating with the federal, state and local levels.
Likewise, it has been decided to collect relief materials from the offices under the federal government in order to systematize the distribution of relief materials in the affected areas and to distribute the necessary materials to the ward level in coordination with the local levels. The meeting also decided to mobilize the security agencies and the concerned local levels for the management and identification of the bodies of the deceased in the floods. It has been decided that the concerned local level will take responsibility for the necessary space and other management for the management of the dead body.
The meeting decided to prioritize the works from immediate repair of flood-damaged roads and bridges to long-term reconstruction. In addition, it has been decided to take necessary precautions to prevent further damage in the vulnerable areas and to make security and preparedness measures effective in the areas of potential risk.
