Preparations to form a high-level all-party mechanism for disaster management
Kathmandu. The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has called for an all-party meeting. The meeting will be held at 2:00 pm at the office of the parliamentary party of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), Singha Durbar.
The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has held a discussion to take forward the process of forming a high-level all-party mechanism for disaster management, reconstruction and risk reduction. The all-party meeting held immediately after the unexpected and devastating floods and landslides in the Bhotekoshi River adopted a 10-point common resolution on sustainable solution to the disaster and preparedness in Nepal. According to point number 10 of the resolution, the disaster management should not be limited to immediate relief and response but should seek a long-term solution. According to the RSP, an agreement was reached to form a ‘parliamentary committee’ or a high-level all-party mechanism to provide continuous advice, assistance and monitoring of the government’s works and for post-disaster reconstruction, climate adaptation, timely improvement in the national disaster policy. The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has called an all-party meeting to discuss the issue of expeditiously forwarding the process of forming a mechanism by implementing the agreement. The RSP has urged the concerned parties and representatives to be present in the meeting.
