Kathmandu. So far, 987 people have lost their lives due to the floods in the Bhotekoshi River in Rasuwa and the damage caused by it in different districts. According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority, about 3,916 people are still out of contact.
According to the latest update, a large number of dead bodies and human organs have been recovered from different districts as per the latest update. Of them, 27 were found in Rasuwa, 95 in Nuwakot, 55 in Dhading, 65 in Gorkha, 38 in Tanahun, 216 in Nawalparasi East, 170 in Nawalparasi West and 321 in Chitwan. According to the NRA, various human organs have also been found in Chitwan.
The unidentified bodies have been kept in 21 hospitals in different districts. The details of the unidentified bodies and human organs have been made available on the disaster portal of the Nepal Police.
So far, 279 people have been injured in floods and disasters. A total of 168 people have been discharged from various hospitals and the details of the treatment of the injured have been made public through its social media and website. The Nepal Army has provided medical treatment to 2,740 people so far.
According to the NRA, 11,814 people have been rescued so far. The Nepal Army has rescued 3,449 Nepalis and 253 foreign nationals by air. So far, the Nepal Army has conducted 573 flights. Of them, 12 were operated on Tuesday. On August 28 and 29, the Armed Police Force (APF) had airlifted relief materials through 50 flights to Rasuwa and Nuwakot. So far, 29 flights have been conducted by Kathmandu-based helicopters from the private sector.
