Foreign Minister of Nepal and Canada hold telephone conversation on floods in Nepal

During the meeting on Tuesday, the two foreign ministers discussed the loss of life and property caused by the recent floods in Nepal. Canadian Foreign Minister Anand expressed his deepest condolences and solidarity to the people of Nepal in this hour of grief. On the occasion, Foreign Minister Khanal expressed his gratitude to the Government of Canada for providing 5 million Canadian dollars for the search, rescue and relief of the flood victims. He also thanked the Government of Canada for its commitment to provide additional 100 million Canadian dollars through the Joint Fund.

Minister Khanal said that the Government of Nepal is mobilizing all available resources for the search, rescue and relief of the people affected by the floods. He said that necessary efforts are also being made for the search and rescue of the missing Canadian citizens.
