119 people, including a British national, were rescued by helicopter
Kathmandu. The Nepal Army has intensified air and ground search and rescue, relief and health services in the flood-affected areas.
Till 7 pm on Tuesday, the Nepal Army has rescued 119 people including a British citizen by helicopter. So far, 3,891 people, including 273 foreign nationals, have been rescued by air.
According to the NA, 2,500 kg of relief materials have been airlifted from Dhunche, Colony, Betrawati and Trishuli-3A. A joint search and rescue team of 26 people, including foreigners, entered about 150 meters inside the tunnel at Chilime Hydro, but after that the steep part started and the tunnel was completely buried, according to the army. Similarly, the joint team was found hanging the tunnel after reaching a distance of about 160 meters at Hanku of Upper Trishuli-1.
The tunnel head in Trishuli-3A is being identified and the soil is being removed through three excavators. The work of re-drilling the hole from the outlet is going on after the hole made in the inlet tunnel using compressor and rock breaker was found to be overflowing and it was impossible to enter from the place.
