DNA Base of Underground Dead Bodies Preserved: PM Shah

Kathmandu. Prime Minister Balen Shah has said that although the unidentified bodies have been managed underground, the grounds for DNA testing and other identification have been preserved.

Briefing the House of Representatives on the Bhotekoshi floods in the House of Representatives on Wednesday, he said that the DNA test and other criteria that help in identification have been preserved and the bodies will be handed over to the concerned family after DNA matching. According to Prime Minister Shah, the bodies of 1114 people have been recovered so far. He said that the bodies are being managed with the help of Nepal Army, Nepal Police and Armed Police Force Nepal. The bodies identified are being handed over to their relatives, said Prime Minister Shah.

He said, “The bodies of those who could not be identified are being safely disposed of under the ground by following the scientific process as per the law.” However, the DNA and other criteria that help in identification have been preserved. These bodies will be handed over to the concerned families after DNA matching. So far, the bodies of 1114 people have been found. These bodies are being managed with the help of the Nepal Army, Nepal Police and Armed Police Force, Nepal. The identified bodies are being handed over to their relatives. ’
