Kathmandu. The member hotels of Hotel Association Nepal (HAN) have contributed millions of rupees to the Prime Minister Natural Disaster Relief Fund to support the rescue, relief and rehabilitation of the people affected by the Bhotekoshi floods.
The association has also made arrangements for free accommodation and food for the relatives of the missing citizens and tourists. Issuing a press release on Thursday, the association has expressed condolences to the bereaved families and paid tribute to the domestic and foreign nationals and tourists who lost their lives in the devastating floods in the Bhotekoshi area of Rasuwa.

According to the association, a significant amount has been deposited in the Prime Minister’s Natural Disaster Relief Fund so far with the help of member hotels. Hotel Kingsbury has donated the highest amount of Rs 1.11 crore, followed by Chandragiri Hills with Rs 52.51 lakh, Hotel Mechi Crown with Rs 26 lakh and Everest Hotel with Rs 20 lakh.
Likewise, Ramada Encure Thamel contributed Rs 1,111,111, Orchid Glory Limited – Hotel Crown Imperial and Mount Glory Forest Resort and Spa Rs 511,111, Dream Group Butwal Rs 503,000 and Hotel Sarathi Rs 165,000. Hotel Ambassador has contributed Rs 100,
000, Club Himalaya has contributed Rs 100,000 and Hotel Association Nepal Sindhuli has contributed Rs 104,285. Some hotel employees have also contributed to the relief fund on their own.
The association has said that the amount received from Airport Hotel, Grand Hotel, Hotel Swagatam, Hotel Rainforest among others will also be collected in its relief fund and mobilized in the affected areas. Along with the financial assistance, some of the member hotels have been providing food, clothes, medicines and other essential relief materials directly through the affected areas and the concerned agencies.
The association has coordinated with the provincial and district hotel associations to provide free accommodation and food to the relatives of the tourists who have disappeared due to the floods. The association has also been assisting the families of the disappeared tourists in information, coordination and necessary management through the help center set up at the Nepal Tourism Board.
Hotel Association Nepal (HAN) will be organising a special prayer meeting in the near future to pay tribute to the domestic and foreign nationals and tourists who lost their lives in the disaster.
