Shahi urges the government to rescue the people who are still stranded inside the tunnel
Kathmandu. Rastriya Prajatantra Party lawmaker Gyanendra Shahi has urged the government to rescue the people who are still stranded inside the tunnel in the Trishuli area.
Speaking at the meeting of the House of Representatives on Thursday, Shahi claimed that out of the seven tunnels, only two tunnels have been rescued while the remaining five tunnels are yet to be rescued.
He said, “People are still stranded in the tunnel in Trishuli. The tunnels that the army recently rescued are Upper Trishuli and Langtang in seven places. The rumor that the tunnel has been spread on social media is only two, five are left. Claiming that the mouth of the tunnel is not closed, he said that six people including Lalbir Budha, Ramesh Budha, Ram Chandra Budha of Jumla came out alive from about 200 meters inside the tunnel.
He said, “This is not a speech, it is the duty of the government. Anyhow, go to that tunnel, I want to appeal.” Questioning the Prime Minister’s statement that there was no machine to remove mud and debris, he urged the government to search for the required machine and use it for immediate rescue.
He said, “The Prime Minister of the country says that there is no machine to dig mud, we have also made a scientific minister. Find out if there is a machine or not.” “
It is not against the government to request the government for the rescue of the citizens, but he is ready to commit such crimes thousands of times for the country and the people. Stating that lawmakers do not have the authority to mobilize the army, budget and state resources, he said the government should be active in the rescue efforts. He said, “We do not have the right to mobilize the army. We are MPs, we do not have the right to make a budget equal to the ward chairperson. We do not have the right to mobilize the budget. We do not have the right to mobilize the resources of the state. This right is with the ministers within this parliament, so we have asked the government to be rescued.”
