Kathmandu. Two employees trapped inside the tunnel of Trishuli-3 ‘A’ Hydropower Project have been rescued safely.
Home Minister Sudhan Gurung himself is active at the incident site to make the rescue work effective and to coordinate on the spot. Although the Home Minister has to manage and coordinate the work, he is working in the flood-affected areas.
Mechanical foreman Sanjay Shah and mechanical supervisor Kabir Maharjan were rescued from the tunnel on Friday.
Preparations are being made to send the two rescued people from the tunnel to the hospital by helicopter for immediate medical examination and further treatment. The Home Minister was seen carrying oxygen cylinders while giving oxygen to the rescued people on a stretcher.
A joint team of Nepal Army, Nepal Police, Armed Police Force and technical personnel have been intensifying the search and rescue operation as there are reports that more people are still trapped in the tunnel.
Home Minister Gurung has been facilitating the search operation by mobilizing and directing the rescue team to intensify the search operation. However, the Home Minister is being criticized for doing stunts in the field, trying to gain popularity on social media and not working in management and coordination.
