Kathmandu. CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli has said that the reconstruction work should be forwarded along with relief and rescue in the flood-affected areas.
While handing over relief materials to the flood victims of Rasuwa at the party central office in Chyasal on Friday, Chairman Oli stressed that all should extend a helping hand in times of disaster.
Stating that the state government, various provincial assemblies and donors were providing support to the affected areas, he said the construction of tuins, suspension bridges and roads should be forwarded in the floods and landslides affected by floods. He said, “Now is the time for relief and rescue. We will focus on that.” Along with relief and rescue, there is also reconstruction work. “
Oli thanked the Bagmati Province government for the work being done in the affected areas and urged other provincial governments and donors to continue their support.
He said, “If the Bagmati government works to install tuins now, it will help the people. In some places, work is being done to construct suspension bridges and roads. I would like to thank the state government and various state assemblies are helping. Help is also being received from various other donors. I would like to thank the donors who are very supportive.
Similarly, Oli praised the work done by the Nepal Army and police in rescue and relief during the disaster. However, he said that the army should not be involved in political disputes.
Stressing that the Nepal Army should remain free from political disputes, undisputed and unblemished, PM Oli said that the NA should be kept as the national security agency of the hopes, trust and confidence of the Nepali people.
