Kathmandu. CPN-UML General Secretary Shankar Pokhrel has said that those responsible for the Bhotekoshi floods should pay compensation to Nepal.

Speaking at a blood donation program organized by the CPN-UML Special Organization Committee at Chyasal on Saturday, General Secretary Pokharel demanded a just solution to the tragedy that thousands of Nepalis have lost their lives due to the problems created by industrialized countries.

“Developed countries have to bear the brunt of the excessive carbon emission from big industries and nuclear reactors,” Pokharel said, adding, “They should pay the compensation for the lives and property we have.” The world community should support Nepal in this campaign of justice. “

General Secretary Pokharel said that the UML is working day and night for the relief, rescue and rehabilitation of the victims. He said that the process has been intensified after party chairman KP Sharma Oli and his team reached the flood-affected areas and took stock of the situation on the ground.

Pokharel said that the UML government would be helpful in the reconstruction and reconstruction works.

“There are leaders and cadres who have achieved remarkable success in rescue, relief, rehabilitation and reconstruction even in the past disasters,” Pokharel said, adding, “We will use that experience in the flood-affected areas of Rasuwa and Nuwakot. We will support the government in such works.” ’
